Emily Procter

 American actress Emily Mallory Procter, born October 8, 1968, is also an activist. She played Ainsley Hayes on the NBC political drama The West Wing (2000-2002; 2006) and Det. Calleigh Duquesne on CBS's police procedural drama CSI: Miami 2002-2012



 



 Childhood and early life



 Procter was born on October 8, 1968. William Procter, an obstetrician had adopted her as an infant and Barbara Jones, a volunteer worker. She was raised in Raleigh. She was only three years of age when her parents divorced. She has an older brothernamed Whit and is adopted.



 



 Ravenscroft School, Raleigh was Procter's school. Procter was a student at East Carolina University and was a member of Alpha Delta Pi. She was a TV anchor for the WNCT-TV in Greenville, North Carolina. After graduating, she earned degrees in journalism, and dance.
